OUR VALUES
FAMILY CENTRED
We want you and your child to feel comfortable and listened to, and we respect your needs and preferences as a family.
STRENGTHS BASED
We are passionate about identifying and utilising the strengths of your child, whatever age and developmental stage they are.
INDIVIDUALISED
We love to get to know your child and what makes them unique. Affirming who they are and how they show up in the world. Therapy is tailored to meet your individual circumstances.
EVIDENCE BASED
We use the best available, latest scientific research as well as clinical evidence through a goal setting process to inform the way we work with you and your child.
Meet the Director
Nicole McGrath is a passionate and fun Occupational Therapist based in the Surf Coast. She completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at LaTrobe University in 2011, and has worked in paediatrics for over 10 years.
Through this experience, Nicole has had roles in a variety of settings, including special developmental schools, private practices, hydrotherapy and involvement in clinical research.
Nicole has worked with children who have a variety of presentations and conditions, including cerebral palsy, autism, chromosomal abnormalities, intellectual disability, attention deficit disorder and global developmental delay. She also works with children who do not have a diagnosis but are in need of assessment and support.
Nicole spent two years living in Wales, UK, where she worked with children with cerebral palsy. Here, she was also able to present to the Royal College of Occupational Therapists on video self-modelling interventions and had a poster presented at the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine on the same topic.
Nicole believes in the power of self-efficacy, hope and agency to help children achieve the skills and goals important to them, starting from a young age. She values it so much that she wrote an inclusive children’s book about it called ‘The Magical Sunglasses’.
Nicole is dedicated to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to uncover their unique self and to feel a sense of belonging, with inclusion being a core value in her work with children and families. Nicole describes her approach as gentle, family-centred and strengths-based.
